Wildebeest Migration Safaris
The Wildebeest Migration is on eof the most rare wildlife encounters one can witness in his or her
lifetime. The ebb and flow of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti in Tanzania, to Kenya's Masai Mara and back is a phenomenal, once-in-a-lifetime sight - and well worth the effort to witness it. Timing your trip to coincide with the migration is important - the exact moment when the herds pass through a specific area depends on highly unpredictable factors such as when the rains fall.
At Abacus Kenya Safaris, we offer you the chance to witness this great migration with our wildebeest migration safari offers! There is no real beginning or end to a wildebeest's journey. Its life is an endless pilgrimage, a constant search for food and water. The only beginning is at the moment of birth. An estimated 400,000 wildebeest calves are born during a six week period early each year - usually between late January and mid-March.

Now in the Western Corridor of the Serengeti National Park, the mega herds are grazing at Belabela
plains, making their way to Musabi and Mbalageti Plains, while the stragglers are still browsing at Seronera in the central Serengeti. Following the heavy rains that are pouring throughout the entire Western Corridor, signs of flooding have already been spotted at the Grumeti River and the Grumeti crossing promises to be a phenomenal sight this year. Guests staying at &Beyond Serengeti Under Canvas witnessed some rare and special sightings with their guide Mohamed while watching the greatest show on earth make its way westward.
